Bed Tower Addition and New Children’s Hospital

The Thomason Master Plan Implementation project includes two major projects - the expansion and renovation of a 345,500 square foot bed tower completed in 2011 and a new 225,000 square foot 130 bed children’s hospital to be complete in 2012. Project includes Level One Trauma Emergency Department expansion and renovation, OR and interventional expansion to accommodate cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery and interventional procedures, a new woman’s and infants bed tower with 60 post- partum beds, 16 Labor/ Delivery/ Recovery (LDR) rooms, 15 bed nursery, and renovation of imaging and catheterization labs.

El Paso Children’s Hospital provides pediatric surgery operating rooms, bed tower with 60 pediatric private bedrooms, 20 Pediatric intensive care and 50 neonatal intensive care beds, outpatient and inpatient imaging, pediatric rehabilitation and ancillary services.

Mitchell is currently in installation phase for the Children’s Hospital and working on CD phase for backfill/renovation work.
