UTMB Health

Victory Lakes Specialty Care Center Expansion
League City, Texas

To meet growing demands for the area for more inpatient and surgical services, UTMB Health is converting an existing Ambulatory Surgical facility into a community hospital. The main hospital on Galveston will continue to treat the most critical patients and provide logistics and laboratory support services.

New services will now include emergency, obstetrics, nursery, and expanding surgical and vascular lab capabilities, as well as a new blood bank and renovations in pharmacy, lab, central sterile, etc. Project also includes a PT/OT and cardiac rehab gym and treatment rooms, bringing existing outpatient services into the hospital setting to support expanded surgical services such as orthopedics.

This design build project is currently in the final construction document phase. Mitchell has worked with the hospital to identify new versus reuse assumptions and confirmed a basis of design specification, while integrating standards and GPO preferences.
