Gulf Coast Medical Center is embarking on a 367,500 SF addition with approximately 54,000 SF of renovation, to the existing 531,000 square foot facility. The project will add 268 beds through a 2-story bed tower addition which will add 33 beds, and a new 3-story vertical addition which adds an additional 228 beds.  Renovation of the existing bed tower will convert the intensive care unit from a 12-bed unit to 26 beds. The project will also expand and renovate the existing trauma center and emergency department, lab,  pharmacy and other support services.  The project will also include site upgrades, construction of a new parking garage, and the expansion and renovation of the central plant.

 

Mitchell provided full planning services including verification of new versus reuse of equipment, development of a master responsibility matrix, and equipment placement drawings in Revit (BIM) and coordination of equipment rough-in requirements.  Mitchell services include procurement services and handling the release of orders to vendors, and managing the receiving and installation phase.  Project will be constructed with phasing for expansion and renovation.
