Martin Health System

Tradition Medical Center
Port St. Lucie, Florida

Tradition Medical Center, a new 80 bed hospital, opened it's doors in December 2013. As the third hospital location for Martin Health System, the full service community hospital includes emergency, surgery, diagnostic imaging, 60 med/surg beds, 10 critical care, 14 LDRP and 6 NICU beds. Mitchell was part of an integrated project delivery team working closely to manage the medical equipment from planning through installation.

Phase 2 of the hospital expansion started soon after the hospital opened, and includes a new 3 story vertical expansion for additional bed capacity, a north expansion for new observation and pediatric emergency and new cath labs on the second floor.  Internal renovations for labor, delivery and NICU expansions were also included. A south expansion was the final construction phase providing growth for lab, materials, food services, etc. Mitchell has also assisted with two adjacent Medical Office Buildings with clinics, infusion, and obstetrics.

Mitchell's team has worked closely with the Martin procurement and clinical engineering staff to leverage system standards, GPO group buys, and negotiations to maximize savings and value to the client. Mitchell managed the off-site receiving, staging, assembly, delivery and placement over several phases and coordinated with biomedical engineering testing and acceptance.
